Introduction |
Ola Kolehmainen's work depicts the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, which was constructed as a Christian church in 537. Later on, the building was converted into a mosque. From 1934 it worked as a museum and was converted again to a mosque in 2020. The building is a masterpiece of Byzantine architecture. Kolehmainen is known for his large-scale photographs based on architecture. The central elements are the details, colour and light of the building. |
