Introduction |
Biblion is an observation on a book and its essence. A book is the bearer of changing, growing and disappearing information. It is also an object that, during the era of digitalisation, travels from library and antiquarian shelves to storages and dumping grounds. The book is an irreplaceable treasure for someone and a useless burden for someone else. The weight of masses of books is also the weight and legacy of our history. Biblion premieres at the Touch exhibition media space. Saara Ekström is an artist working with film, photography, text and installation. Her works centre on the meaning of changes, destruction and growth, remembering and forgetting. Eero Tammi is a film editor, who has worked with Ekström since 2015. Tammi has also produced and directed several short films. |
