Virtual teams are geographically dis-persed and because of that members of virtual teams can be located in different countries. It is leaders’ responsibility to make their teams to archive the best possible results by leading them with different kinds of methods and showing leadership in various ways. The research method of this bachelor’s thesis is literature research. The ob-jective of this research is to find out what means and tools leaders of virtual teams have in their use with what they can make their teams more efficient and solve possible problems. Also leaders of virtual teams have to face multicultural environments. The results show that leaders of virtual teams have to consider multicul-tural challenges. Leaders have to consider differences in communication and restrictions in possible working times. Leaders of virtual teams have also lots of different technologies in their use, which they can use to create trust among their team members. These technologies should be selected wisely, so that team can complete its task in the best possible way. Video conferences are a useful way to create trust amongst different team members. Leaders of virtual teams can use different kinds of methods of leadership and management to lead their teams. Leader of virtual teams should be motivating and encourage members of their teams to communicate with each other.
