The Danish royal family, King Frederik IX, Queen Ingrid and Crown Princess Margrethe, in Finland. Shop windows are decorated with pictures and flower arrangements in the colours of the Danish flag. A crowd watches as the group disembarks from their yacht at the Market Square and is welcomed. The royals visit the Presidential Palace, the war graves in Hietaniemi cemetery, the Parliament Building, the National Museum of Finland, Hietalahti Shipyard, Lastenlinna children’s hospital, Seurasaari Island and Suomenlinna sea fortress. Their itinerary includes a drive along Viikintie road through Porvoo and Loviisa to Kotka, where the royals visit the Enso-Gutzeit sawmill, Metsola nursery school and Langinkoski Park and imperial lodge. Finally, the royal family hosts a dinner for the president on board their yacht the HDMY Dannebrog in the South Harbour in Helsinki.
