fyysinen kuvaus: Pääluettelo: IV. Hra R. Martinin kokoelma vanhoja, varsinkin koptiliaisia, kangasjätteitä. Ateneumin luettelossa on niillä ostonumerot 16 (1 - 60), 27 (1 - 39) ja 28 (1 - 33). Niistä on maksettu 1,100 Smk.

Pyöreä purppurakuosikankaan kappale, medaljonki, jonka pintaa peittävät nauhaornamenttien muodostamat pyörylät, joiden välissä on stilisoituja viininlehtiä.

Round purple medallion. The surface of the medallion is covered with spirals of band ornaments interspersed with stylized vine leaves. The motif was executed with the so-called 'flying needle' technique by threading a thin white linen yard on the dark background while the weave progresses. The dye of these purple fabrics is not authentic purple, but was achieved by repeated dyeing with indigo and madder root. The hues vary from reddish brown to dark blue and violet.
