The purpose of this thesis was to research the level of risk preparedness of micro-entrepreneurs and the attitudes towards risk management.

The theoretical part of the thesis focused on risks and risk realization, the basics of risk management and how risk management can have a positive effect on business. By preparing for risks and conducting planned and targeted risk management, the entrepreneur can ensure the continuity and profitability of the business.

The research method in the thesis was mainly quantitative, but it also had features of the qualitative method in the form of open questions. The study is conducted with a questionnaire.

Preconceptions were strengthened by the results of the survey, which confirmed the shortcomings in the risk management of micro-enterprises. According to the results, time is typically used occasionally for risk management, although it is considered relevant. There was a significant trend in the results, according to which the number of the company's personnel affected the implementation of risk management. Self-employed entrepreneurs did not consider risk management as important or spent as much time on it as entrepreneurs employing 5-9 people.
