In Finland HaiPro-program has been developed for the risk of an event. There you can record patients and safety notifications. In that program, it is possible to record close call –situations. Functional reporting system is considered to corrective patient safety and prevent additional information the risk of an event recurrences.
The purpose of this thesis was to find out the knowledge on HaiPro-system and needs for the potential training among the home care nurses in Kotka.
Inquiry was quantitative and there was two opened questions. Inquiry was carried out Nowember 2015. The replies was treated comparing direct distributions and open questions handled by using content analysis. Inquiry was sent to 153 nurses in home care.
55 answers were received to the questionnaire. Most of answers stated that HaiPro-program systems improve for work- and patient safety. Most of the answers knew their own HaiPro knowledge. The need for additional training related to close call -situations and identification of adverse events. In further additional training option was the department hours, education in network and personal training.
Further research can be, how to increase adverse event reporting and how nurses perceive situations when dealing with HaiPro-reporting.
