Tässä opinnäytetyössä perehdytään eräässä tukkumyymälässä tapahtuvaan keräilyyn, jota suorittaa eräs logistiikkapalvelutarjoaja – opinnäytetyön tilaaja. Tavoitteena oli löytää keinoja, joilla keräilyä voitaisiin tehostaa.

Työssä kokeiltiin toisenlaista keräystapaa, joka työajanmittausmenetelmin taltioitiin ja jonka tulokset analysoitiin. Tukun toiminnanohjausjärjestelmästä saatuja tietoja analysoitiin, erilai-sia potentiaalisia muutosvaihtoehtoja optimoitiin sekä pohdittiin, ovatko ne käytännössä mahdollisia toteutuakseen.

Tuloksista ilmenee, että uusi keräystapa tehosti noin yhden kuukauden mittaisen kokeilun jälkeen keräystä noin 5 % sekä keräyksen sivukulut pienenivät keräyslaatikoiden tarpeen vähenemisen myötä.

The objective of this Bachelor’s thesis was to increasethe efficiency of picking operations in a wholesale environment. This thesis e xamines the operative picking in a wholesale store, which is one of the largest daily goods wholesale operators in Finland. The company’s picking operations have been outsourced to commissioner of this thesis.

A new method of picking operations was carried out. For comparison and analysis, the before and after situations were clocked for waste time management mapping. Data from the enterprise resource planning of the wholesaler was collected, analyzed and the possibilities of different potential solutions for an increase in efficiency were examined.

Waste time management results indicate that the efficiency of picking operations was increased by 5 % in a period of one month after the change in the methods of picking. Other possible solutions were not tested due to time limit of this thesis.
