The purpose of this thesis was to determine a test method for solidity and adhesion between brick slip and plaster. The test method was needed in order to determine that the solidity and adhesion between new models of brick slip and plaster are adequate. This thesis is ordered by Stofix Oy, which manufactures brick facade panels.

The search for the best suitable test method for Stofix Oy was started with a theoretical study. The features which effect on the solidity and adhesion between brick slip and plaster are presented in the theoretical part of this thesis. The applicable test method was searched by examining the already existing standards for brick slips and plaster. The test for suitability of the test method was carried out in the facilities of Oulu University of applied sciences. For the test, different types of brick slip prototypes were manufactured from bricks seamed together. The objective of the tests was to find out right size for prototypes and to specify the requirements of the test method.

Both instructions for the construction of the test method and requirements for the tester were created with the help of the tests made. With the help of the test method, Stofix is able to verify the suitability of new brick slip models in to the brick slip facade, and therefore ensure the manufacturing of quality and longlasting brick slip facades.
