The main goal of this thesis was to create a training package for the North Carelia Fire Department employees and secondly to collect feedback from it. The training package was designed to be a teaching tool for the use of the new Zoll X Series monitor defibrillator. The idea for this production was to develop a functional and easy way to learn the use of the monitor defibrillator. It aims to maintain and improve a paramedic’s skills in using the defibrillator. Material produced by the thesis is only meant to be used by the North Carelia Fire De-partment employees. The subject of the thesis was assigned by the emergency care superiors of the North Carelia Fire Department. The information in the theory section of the thesis was gathered from literature, web sources and co-operating closely with the Zoll importer. The ICU head nurse of Tampere University Hospital was also contacted about their experiences using their medical equipment licenses. The theory section was checked by the importer, the emergency care superiors at the North Carelian Fire Department and few other paramedics. The feedback from the training package was mainly positive. The employees were pleased by the functional and user-friendly way of learning. It is not likely any follow-up studyes can be developed from this exact thesis, but this kind of training package model can be used in training of medical equipment user training in the future.
