The primary purpose of this study was to survey the workplace skills amongst UAS students and define what workplace skills the instructors in practical training finds important. The aim for this study was to define the UAS students achieves the workplace skills, that the instructors in practical training establishes.

The study searches answers to questions about instructing paramedic students practical training and also answers to possible changes in the students’ workplace skills. The answers help planning tools in the future, that can help developing instructing in practical training. Data was collected by interviewing instructors of practical training in paramedic nursing. The data was analyzed using inductive content analysis.

The results show that generation -y has different attitudes and values when talking about workplace skills. The study also revealed, that instructors in practical training wanted changes in the evaluating process during practical training in paramedic nursing, and also that the instructors thinks they need some instructing themselves.
