This final project was commissioned by Mika Sohlberg, who is administratively responsible for Lohtajan Ravitalli Oy (BWT Siittola Stuteri) in Lohtaja, Kokkola. An existing equestrian center in Lohtaja is supposed to be extended with a new stable for sixteen horses and an apartment for a stable employee. There are already three stables in the horse farm, but their premises can not be utilized with a new stable, as the new stable building will be located far away from the other stables. It is expected that the extension of the horse farm and its activities will begin in the near future. The purpose of this project was to design the new stable and its surroundings.

Planning was started by exploring the existing building site based on the existing documents and visiting the site. Then, material about horse stall construction was studied, such as the Environmental Protection Act and the regulations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The actual designing took place by modeling the target with Autodesk Revit Modeling Software. From time to time, planning meetings were arranged mainly by e-mail with the customer and the supervisor of the thesis project.

As a result of the project there were the sketch drawings produced from the model including site plan, ground plan, sectional and facade drawings as well as some illustrations. The aim was to make the drafts according to the customer’s wishes and proposals as well as general building regulations.
