Abstract

The subject of the thesis was obtained in connection with the summer work in 2018. The aim of the thesis was to produce a new building condition assessment tool for the supplier for the purpose of making building condition assessments. The purpose of the building condition assessment tool was to make it possible for the client's client to produce building condition assessments that are broad in scope and qualitatively uniform.

The thesis was a development project that started to develop a better building condition assessment tool based on the old documents and instructions of the already existing client. The building condition assessment tool was developed in collaboration with the principal’s representative, who in turn contacted the customer's representative to get the building condition assessment tool from serving the parties as well as possible. Professional literature was used as source material.

The resulting building condition tool will be used in the future when preparing property condition assessments. A lot of information and guidance on building condition assessment was included in the building condition assessment tool so it became quite extensive and replaced several documents with one.
