The purpose of the thesis was to design a new and modern sow farm to Raita-Aho farm. In designing, the legislation, animal welfare, the farmer’s wishes, the location of the building and fire regulations had to be taken into consideration. The thesis contains the ground plan, floor plan, sectional drawing, elevation, foundation details and industrial building compartmentation of the sow farm. The function of cooperative companies the structures’ dimensioning and the needed stiffening. The drawings of the sow farm were made with an AutoCAD program. The dimen-sioning of the sole was made with the Excel program so that it would be possible to design the size of the foundation for buildings of different sizes and an iron mounting needed in the future.
