The purpose of this thesis was to create a management plan for countryside landscape and nature to a farm without livestock, located in center of Finland. In a meeting with the owner of the farm we decided to concentrate on specific environmental targets of farming areas. The idea was to make a treatment plan in the spring in 2015, for an application for EU subsidies.
As a thesis work the values of the rural nature and landscape of the farm were evaluated and measured and a management plan for five years forward was created. The plan helps the farmer in the work of conservation of diversity of nature and works as a guide of how to do treatments in specific environmental targets. Also one target of this thesis was to be an example to other farmers who are interested in the work for preservation of biodiversity and environmental care.
This thesis contains a private farmer´s treatment plan for specific environmental targets. Nature biodiversity connected concepts, agreements and development programs are presented in this work. Different subsidies for preserving rural landscape and nature biodiversity are also mentioned. Farmers can use this thesis as a guide in their own work for the preservation of nature. They can also use the management plan, if they want to make an application for EU subsidies. For the forward development of nature biodiversity would be to create a management plan about forest specific environmental targets of the farm.
