This thesis is about how production designers and cinematographers work effect on creating the visual look of a film. How do they interlock with each other and how it shows in their outcome? My own experiences are based on short film Kaunis kuolema, where I was the set designer, as well as other projects I have participated during my studies, where I have been a part of cinematography or set decorating group. Kaunis kuolema is a 9 minute short film that takes place mainly at hospital environment.
