The purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to describe the two concert recordings in two different concert rooms. Virrat Music Academy arranged the concerts and the first one was in a church in Virrat. The second concert was the final concert of an orchestra camp and it was in a sports hall in Virrat. The purpose is also to bring out the special features and challenges related to outdoor productions and to recording classical music.

The special features were first considered in the theoretical part of the thesis. There was not much literature on outdoor production which is why I interviewed a few professionals of outdoor production and some experts in recording classical music. Their experience was of great help when I planning the recordings. This thesis explains the planning and implementation of the recordings and also briefly the postproduction.

In the process of the thesis I learned a lot of important theory and obtained a good basis for outdoor production and classical music recordings. I also gained important experience of planning outdoor production and recording orchestras, and learned about the challenges of different rooms. This experience will be a great advantage for my future recordings and work.
