Hoitotyön vaatimustekijät kognitiivisen ergonomian näkökulmasta

This thesis was conducted in co-operation with the Sustainable Brain Health project, which was coordinated by Tampere University of Applied Sciences. The aim of this quantitative study was to investigate the requirements of nursing from the perspective of cognitive ergonomics. The purpose of the study was to produce generalizable information on nursing stress factors from a cognitive perspective. The data for the study were obtained through the Sustainable Brain Health project. The material was collected through an electronic survey in November 2020.

Fifty-three nursing workers responded to the survey (n=53). The respondents worked in care and housing service units. The material was analyzed using the SPSS program.

As key results, nursing workers are burdened by hurry, quick solutions at work and fixed concentrations in work. In addition, making complex decisions is sometimes seen as a stressful factor at work. Most of the nurses who responded felt that they had to solve problems in their work for which there is no clear solution. Speech and sound noise in the work environment is also considered a stressful factor.
