Frisbeegolfin kehittyminen ja kasvaneet harrastajamäärät ovat luoneet frisbeegolfradoille omat markkinansa, joita ei vielä nykytilanteessa olla osattu tehokkaasti hyödyntää. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli selvittää millaisia liiketoimintamahdollisuuksia lisääntyneet harrastajamäärät ovat luoneet Frisbeegolfseura Fore Turku Ry:n toiminnalle.

Harrastajamäärien kasvua tutkittiin lajin kattojärjestön PDGA:n ylläpitämiä tilastoja hyödyntäen. Kyselytutkimuksella selvitettiin, mistä frisbeegolfin harrastajamäärien kasvu johtuu, keitä harrastajat ovat, miksi he harrastavat lajia ja mitä he lajilta tulevaisuudessa odottavat.

Radan laadukas suunnittelu, toiminta ja kattavan ylläpidon järjestämien ovat tärkeimpiä elementtejä positiivisen asiakaskokemuksen luomiseksi. Nykytilanteessa ratoja on määrällisesti riittävästi, mutta ne eivät vastaa laadullisesti harrastajien toiveisiin. Tulevaisuudessa harrastajat arvostavat enenevissä määrin radan laatutekijöitä ja oheispalveluita. Laadukkaille radoille löytyy kysyntää ja asiakkaat olisivat myös valmiita maksamaan niiden käytöstä nykytilannetta enemmän.

Työssä pystyttiin onnistuneesti selvittämään lajin kasvun taustoja, nykytilannetta, tulevaisuuden näkymiä ja markkinoita. Kyselytutkimuksen avulla pystyttiin selvittämään millaisia asioita radan suunnittelussa ja perustamisessa tulee ottaa huomioon, jotta radan liiketoiminnalle luodaan mahdollisimman hyvät edellytykset. Tämän tutkimuksen tuloksia hyödyntämällä Frisbeegolfseura Fore pystyy kehittämään toimintaansa asiakaslähtöisesti ja vastaamaan markkinoiden kysyntään. Työssä kaavoiteltuja ansaintamalleja hyödyntämällä Fore voi myös lisätä liiketoimintansa tuloja.

The purpose of this thesis was to identify the current state of the business around Disc Golf and the development of the sport and its prospects. The purpose of the thesis was to study what is required for profitable disc golf course business from a private sector perspective. The Bachelor's thesis focuses on the development of the qualitative factors of the track and the perception of economic opportunities.

The target of The Bachelor's thesis was the Disc Golf Club Fore Turku Ry. The club is an association specialized in the sport and owns the Aninkainen`s disc golf course near Turku. The club wants to be part of taking the sport to the next level and lead the development of the sport.

The theory of bachelor's thesis consists of planning and establishing the business, customer experience, earning models, funding and the application of these in Disc Golf.

Focus of this study was to develop the business inside the sport. In order to determine the current state of Disc Golf PDGA`s statistics were used. Customer experience and demand were examined through qualitative survey which was conducted on the sport enthusiasts and its sample size was 245 people. An online survey was used as a method of research. The research problem was resolved through the development of service design and earning models in order to achieve profitable Disc Golf Course business. Survey results were processed through data analytics, statistical analysis and content analysis.

Based on the results of the survey, it became clear that the quality of the course and the organization of comprehensive maintenance are key elements in creating a positive customer experience. The results also clearly show that customers are prepared to pay more for the use of a high-quality course in the current state of the market. Based on the results of the study, the development of earning models and the importance of their exploitation will become more important in the future since the demand of the course related services and quality standards is developing.

The concept built on the results of the study can be used to establish an economically viable private Disc Golf Course. In this bachelor’s thesis the phases of the project have been ad-dressed in the natural progression of the course establishment process. This Bachelor's thesis can be used to increase and improve the qualitative level of the Disc Golf Courses.
