Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena on selvittää, kuinka opinnäytetyön toimeksiantaja, Yritys X, on hyötynyt kolmesta jo käyttöönotetusta ohjelmistorobotista.

Teoriaosuus on jaettu kahteen osaan. Ensimmäisessä osuudessa käsitellään digitalisaatiota yritysten liiketoiminnassa sekä tarkemmin vielä taloushallinnossa. Toisessa osuudessa käsitellään ohjelmistorobotiikkaa yleisesti ja siihen kohdistuvia ennakkoluuloja. Toinen osuus käsittelee myös ohjelmistorobotiikan käyttöönotosta tulevia hyötyjä ja mahdollisia haasteita.

Teoriaosuuden jälkeen käsitellään Yritys X:n käyttämiä taloushallinnon ohjelmia sekä sitä mihin yritys tarvitsee ohjelmistorobotiikkaa. Työssä esitellään kolme valittua robottia sekä näiden robottien tavoitteet. Robotit toimivat tase-erittelyn, verojaksotuksen sekä reskontratäsmäytyksen parissa. Nämä kaikki työtehtävät ovat keskeisiä taloushallinnon työtehtäviä ja toimivat tiettyjen sääntöjen mukaan.

Opinnäytetyössä tutkimusmenetelmänä käytettiin kyselyä, joka lähetettiin yhteensä 19 kirjanpitäjälle. Vastauksia kyselytutkimuksessa oli yhteensä 11. Tutkittavien robottien käyttöönotto on onnistunut hyvin ja hyödyt ovat selkeästi havaittavissa. Jokainen robotti säästää aikaa työntekijöiltä, jotka robotteja käyttävät. Robotit lisäävät myös selkeästi työnkuvan mielekkyyttä, koska rutiinityöt vievät pienemmän osan työpäivästä. Roboteista jokaisesta löytyi myös parannettavia asioita, joihin Yritys X pyrkii tekemään korjauksia. Nämä ongelmat eivät kuitenkaan olleet vakavia vaan enemmänkin pientä hienosäätöä robotin toimintaan. Jatkossa robottien toiminnan ylläpitäminen edellyttää sujuvaa yhteistyötä yrityksen robotiikkatiimin ja kirjanpitäjien välillä.

The aim of this thesis is to find out, how much client, Company X, has benefited from three already introduced robots.

The theoretical part of the thesis has two parts. First part considers digitalization in corporate businesses and more specific in the area of financial management. Second theoretical part deals with robotic process automation and prejudices about it. This part also brings up the possibilities of utilizing robotic process automation and also the challenges.

After the theoretical part, the Company X is introduced with the software’s it uses in its businesses and also why it needs robotic process automation. Three robots chosen to this thesis will be introduced and the expectations considering their utilizing. Robots are working with balance sheet specifications, tax sequencing and accounts ledger reconciliation. All these tasks are very important financial managements tasks and work with specific restrictions.

Inquiry is used in the thesis as the research method, which was send to 19 accountants. In total there was 11 answers to the inquiry. Utilizing of the robots used in this thesis has worked really good and the benefits are easy to discover. All the robots save time from the employees, who use the robots. The robots also increase meaningfulness in their users working environment, because they reduce the amount of routine work. Every robot still had flaws, which Company X proceeds to correct. These problems weren’t big and they are fixed with just some fine adjustments. In the future maintaining the work of the robots requires collaboration between the company’s robotics team and accountants.
