Veistoksen suun ympärillä sekä jaloissa on punaista väriä. Carving, human figure. A man’s figure has been carved of walrus ivory. The head is tilted back, the facial features shaped. There are no arms nor feet. There is reddish pigment around the mouth and on the legs. Exhanged from the collections of the Peabody Museum, at Harvard University, in the United States. Provenance given in the documents as Lower Kuskokwim. The Peabody database refers to a collection exchanged from the Department of Anthropology, University of California, Berkeley in 1904 which includes Kuigpagmiut objects from Lower Yukon collected by Charles L. Hall. The Hall collection is now part of the North American collections at the Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology at the University of California. According to the museum records, Hall collected these items c. 1895 and Hearst acquired them in 1902 and donated them to the University museum.
