ABSTRACT Pinja Holmberg-Peimola, Taina Mamia Early childhood education plan as an outcome of co-development in Lohja parish 66 pages and 6 appendices Spring, 2023 Diaconia University of Applied Sciences Bachelor's Degree Programme in Social Services Christian Early Childhood Education Bachelor of Social Services The purpose of this development-oriented thesis was to produce a document, a plan for the Finnish-language early childhood education and care of Lohja parish. The development work was implemented in cooperation with the parish and the local day care of the municipality, with the children, the guardians, and the staff members there. The final document was based on the results of co-development process, the national Early Childhood Education Plan 2022 and the guidelines and documents prepared by the church. The focus of the planning was on the pedagogical competence, the quality of activities and the evaluation of early childhood education work. Furthermore, the aim was also to strengthen the specific and positive features of the church’s early childhood education in the field of early childhood education. The report part of the thesis consists of a theoretical part, a description of the development process and the final document. The document includes the sections: Christian view of humanity as the basis of the church's early childhood education, Learning and involvement, Planning, evaluation and management of pedagogic activities, Early childhood education activities, and Cooperation with the parish's early childhood education and care. As a result of the process and the collected materials, the early childhood education plan of the Lohja parish included the child-centered nature of the activities, the participation of children and families in the planning of early childhood education and care, and the regular surveys carried out on children and families, on the basis of which the activities are evaluated and developed. Pedagogical planning of activities and the implementation of pedagogical leadership in regular meetings with the early childhood education team were also central.
