Voimanostajilla esiintyviin tyypillisimpiin urheiluvammoihin emme saaneet selkeää vastausta.
Abstract Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the role of interaction in supporting value co-creation during pre-purchase customer journey stages when selling professional B-to-B services. First, value co-creation in professional service firms (PSFs) is reviewed, and, second, the role of interaction in the different stages of a customer’s pre-purchase journey is explored, specifically in the context of B-to-B human resource management services. Design/methodology/approach: Qualitative, semi-structured interview data was collected from potential B2B customers of a PSF in question, providing a broad coverage of prospective clients in architecture, engineering and IT sector. Findings: In general, the findings of this study indicate that interaction plays a crucial role in pre-purchasing stages of a customer journey. In particular, these findings form understanding of how various interaction channels and content support PSF’s ability to co-create value with its prospects. Originality/value: The existing research tends to concentrate on how value is created for existing customers, and far less attention has been paid to the perspective of prospects. This study contributes theoretically by providing novel insights into the current literature on value co-creation in PSFs by providing an understanding of how interactions in pre-purchase phases affect the co-creation of value from the perspective of prospects, which is a less researched viewpoint. Empirically, this study offers managers much-needed, context-specific knowledge of PSFs by comparing differences and pulling together similarities from each customer journey stage of PSF prospects.
This chapter investigates the implementation of pedagogical leadership by Finnish early childhood education (ECE) centre directors. The study focuses on the key pedagogical leadership responsibilities of three centre directors and how leadership structures and approaches influence the implementation of pedagogical leadership in ECE settings. Qualitative shadowing was employed to investigate the directors’ leadership practices on pedagogical leadership in selected settings. The findings reflected three main areas of responsibility for pedagogical leadership: leading pedagogical activities and curriculum work within the centre, leading professional development of educators, and leading pedagogical assessment and development. Furthermore, it was revealed that leadership structures in the municipality and leadership approaches of the centre directors significantly influenced the implementation of pedagogical leadership. This study’s findings can inform and promote the implementation of pedagogical leadership and can enhance the preparation and training of ECE leaders who can guide the quality provisioning of ECE programmes that impact children’s learning outcomes.
Since the 2010s, the field of early childhood education and care (ECEC) in Finland has gone through several changes. Leaders working in ECEC have a crucial role in developing pedagogy and practices in their centres. Pedagogical leadership is one of the key concepts in educational discourse around leaders’ work; however, the field lacks a unified definition for pedagogical leadership in terms of both research and practice in ECEC. Therefore, it is necessary to examine how leaders conceptualise pedagogical leadership and how they see their own roles as pedagogical leaders. The data are five focus group interviews with ECEC leaders (N = 15) that were conducted in 2019. The data were analysed by employing the discursive institutionalism approach. The discourse analysis revealed how ECEC leadership tasks were reflected in relation to the importance of pedagogical leadership competence and the use of ‘pedagogical lenses’. Further, leaders described the ECEC curriculum as a strategic tool. Pedagogical leadership was seen as a means for leaders and teachers to jointly interpret and implement the curriculum. In light of these findings, it may be stated that ECEC pedagogical leadership is a concept that appears to be taking shape theoretically in ECEC leaders’ discourses. However, its daily implementation requires clarification before a shared understanding of the matter can be reached.
Artikkeliteoksen ensimmäinen osa käsittelee tutkijoiden ja asiantuntijoiden puheenvuoroja varhaiskasvatuksen johtajuudesta ja siihen liittyvistä ilmiöistä tuoreen tutkimustiedon valossa. Julkaisun toinen osa käsittelee kuntien varhaiskasvatuksen ”menestystarinoita”. Artikkelit perustuvat Varhaiskasvatuksen II Johtajuusfoorumin 2008 työpajojen alustuksiin, joissa ’Kasvatus- ja opetusalan johtajuus’ projektiin osallistuneet kunnat kertoivat onnistuneista ratkaisuistaan varhaiskasvatustoiminnan organisoinnissa ja kehittämisessä.
