Reliability engineering in a technology company is an important field of engineering for the product development and the other functions. The reliability of a product or service is important for businesses to succeed in the competitive markets. Company success requires proper decisions at the right time and based on reliable up-to-date information. There-fore, utilizing all the available well-structured knowledge across the company is beneficial contribute success.

The goal of this study was to develop a process proposal for sharing the reliability engineering results and improve the utilization within a client company. A new process is required to enable the path for reliability engineering results from the reliability department to other departments in the company. Currently the process guides the formation and transfer of reliability knowledge based on only proactive demand.

Three research questions were initially formed to be answered in order to achieve this goal. Survey was chosen as a primary research method to find out the current state of knowledge sharing in the context. Additionally, literature review and existing internal client company survey and documentation were explored to support this study.

As a result of this master’s thesis, a new process model for sharing the reliability knowledge was proposed. The outcome of this study contributes to more effective knowledge sharing of the reliability engineering results across the company.
