The significance of corporate culture in human resource management

he main objective of this thesis is to find out how corporate culture is reflected in the human resource management of the investigated company and whether the cooperative values and principles come into sight in this whole. Thus, the theory is mainly based on the literature on corporate culture, human resource management and cooperative values and principles. The study is carried out as a case study using qualitative research as a research method. The data collection of the empirical part is conducted by utilizing semi-structured thematic interviews by interviewing two members of the executive team. The collected research data is structured with the help of the content analysis for the reflection purposes. According to the research results, corporate culture and its values have a bearing on the human resource management. On the other hand, human resource practices tend to create a new corporate culture or reinforce the existing one and its values. The company’s own values, as well as the cooperative values and principles, emerge to become the key factors in directing the corporate culture and human resource management. ”People first” -approach, accountability, solidarity, equality, co-operation and personal opportunity to influence decisions are the most essential values and principles that emerge from the research.
