The development of project management and monitoring in a company engaged in contract business

This study is based on the target organization's endeavor to improve its project management, particularly in terms of project monitoring, budgeting, scheduling, and risk controlling. It was observed in the target organization that there were deficiencies and challenges in various aspects of project management, which affected the organization's efficiency, effectiveness, and potential for future growth. The aim of the study was to determine how these aspects of project management could be developed and optimized, and what project management systems could be used.

The research consisted of theoretical and empirical parts. In the theoretical framework, project management and its aspects related to the target organization were examined on a general level. In the empirical part, theme interviews were used as the data collection method, focusing on the current project management processes of the target organization, the challenges associated with them, and expectations for the future. Information obtained from the interviews was used with other information from the company. Further examination was approached in two ways: by comparing different project management systems against each other, and individual software tools together for project management purposes.

The research highlighted the current model of project management and its development, risk management, scheduling, budgeting, project monitoring, project portfolio management, and strategy as the key areas for development. As a result of this research, it can be stated that there is a clear correlation between effective project management and the success of projects, which are critical prerequisites for project success.
