The aim of the study was find out what are the conditions and characteristic for development of the future moving services and what will be role of the moving services in welfare services. This study focuses on moving welfare services, but there are possibilities also to boost other services to moving services.

The theory section of this study considers forms of services and the structure of service generally and especially the welfare services. The empirical section of the study is concentrated on interviews of the personnel of the Health Care Districts of South Karelia. Interviews charted what kind of future roles there will be among moving services and what is the role of the ICT-technology

The main result of the study was that there is lots of potential to develop moving services. Future role is seen as a whole new innovatory range of services or complementing present services. The ICT-technology has essential role in the development of moving services. The private sector and the third sector have lots of possibilities supplementing the services which are offered via moving services.
