This research deals with entrepreneurship education at the Oulu Vocational College. The aim of the research is to find out whether teaching entrepreneurship is considered important and whether its integration into vocational subjects has been successful. The research also looks at how eager students are to work as entrepreneurs in the job market in the future, as well as to what extent the aims in the Oulu Vocational College strategy about entrepreneurship have been met. The theoretical framework of the research consists of the following concepts: entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurship.

The target organisation in the research was the Oulu Vocational College and in particular, the second and third year students and the teaching staff there. The empirical material was gathered using an electronic software called Webropol. The sample consists of about 4000 students and 577 teachers. The research represents the quantitative research method. 568 students and 239 teachers answered the questionnaire. This can be considered sufficient for the reliability of the research.

Most of the research questions were statements for which the alternative responses were given on a Likert scale of one to five. The different parts of the questionnaire dealt with the importance of entrepreneurship in upper secondary vocational education; the successfulness of integrating entrepreneurship into vocational subjects; the atmosphere at Oulu Vocational College regarding entrepreneurship; and the desire of the students to work as entrepreneurs in the future.

According to the results, the teaching of entrepreneurship in the upper secondary vocational level is considered important. The integration of entrepreneurship into vocational subjects cannot be considered to have been successful. The reason for this that stood out was the lack of goals in the foundation of the degree studies. The atmosphere at Oulu Vocational College was thought to be supportive of entrepreneurship. The students had a positive attitude towards the idea of working as entrepreneurs in the future.
