In this study we explore an Instagram dataset that collected public Instagram posts and comments from the greater Helsinki region during a three months period . We perform a variety of topic modelling analysis on the dataset, to grasp overall topic presence and prevalence on the social media platform. We focus on the analysis of English data in this paper, and will present the handling of Finnish and Swedish data in our next report.
