Sammandrag: Ryssland har länge varit en av de största handelspartnerna för Finland. Därför är det viktigt att kunna samarbeta samt sträva mot goda relationer sinsemellan. Trots att Ryssland och Finland är grannländer möter de på utmaningar i sitt samarbete. Exempelvis har Ryssland och Finland en stor kulturskillnad. Ryssland är också känd för att vara ett land med olika utmaningar och fallgropar inom export och import av varor. Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka vilka utmaningar ryska aktörer möter på vid import av livsmedel till Ryssland från Finland. Arbetet är avgränsat till aktörer inom Sankt-Petersburgs området. I teoridelen har man tagit upp fyra potentiella faktorer för utmaningar. Dessa är kulturskillnaden mellan Ryssland och Finland, korruptionen, tullprocessen och ekonomiska sanktioner. För att samla in informationen för teoridelen har man använt vetenskapliga artiklar, böcker och internet. För att genomföra undersökningen har man tillämpat en kvalitativ forskningsmetod. Datainsamlingen utfördes med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer. Två ryska personer med många års erfarenhet i import av livsmedelsprodukter blev intervjuade. I slutet av arbetet presenteras resultatet i tabellform skilt för respektive intervju. Resultatet visar att ryska aktörer möter åtminstone på tre olika utmaningar vid import av livsmedel. Dessa är dokumentation, sanktioner och importsubstitution.

Abstract: Russia has been one of the largest trading partners in Finland for a long time. Therefore, it is important to be able to work together and strive for good relationships between themselves. Although Russia and Finland are neighboring countries, they face challenges in their cooperation. For example, Russia and Finland have a big cultural difference. Russia is also known for being a country with different challenges and pitfalls in exports and imports of goods. The purpose of this work is to investigate what challenges Russian actors face when importing food into Russia from Finland. The work is delimited to actors in the Saint Petersburg area. In the theory section, four potential factors have been identified for challenges. These are cultural differences between Russia and Finland, corruption, the customs process and economic sanctions. Scientific articles, books and the internet have been used to collect the information for the theory part. A qualitative research method has been applied to carry out the survey. The data collection was conducted using semi-structured interviews. Two Russian people with many years of experience in importing food products were interviewed. At the end of the work, the results in tabular form are presented separately for each interview. The result shows that Russian operators meet at least three different issues when importing food. These are documentation, sanctions and import subsidies.
