E-commerce website development for electronics store

Our Thesis demonstrated the development of e-commerce website CMS in PHP and MySQL from scratch. Different electronic products were inserted inside the website and connected to a database with PHP programming language and MySQL. The main objective of the thesis was to create a successful electronics e-shop where sellers can showcase electronic products and people can surf, select, pay, and order products conveniently from home.

Theoretical background and practical implementation of all related subjects were briefly explained in the thesis. All tools and techniques used during development were described in the thesis. The thesis was based on the development of an e-commerce website and a clear description of tools and techniques will help to understand about whole development process clearly. Website design, user experience, website marketing, user requirement analyzed in this thesis. The thesis aimed to design electronics online shopping platform for both customers and sellers to make shopping convenient.

The first phase of the development process was proper planning for website design and features development. Different tech stacks such as HTML, CSS, PHP, MYSQL, jQuery languages were used to create the website. XAMPP server was used for hosting the database and testing projects locally.

The main idea behind the project was to provide users with easy access to all the electronic devices offered by the company and if found useful, help them make the purchase. The website supports huge varieties of electronic products of different category and the product list on the website page is continuously updated whenever any product is added or removed as per the user requirement. The website has a sidebar where all the brands and products are listed and are easily accessible to the users. The top navigation bar consists of the links to the home page, all products, my account, shopping cart, contact us, and logout pages. The search functionality was added with a search bar on the navigation panel to find the desired product easily available in a single search and click instead of browsing through all the products. Users can surf through the website, choose products, add them to cart, and register their details before making payments. User registration was taken very seriously in this project as it brings a lot of convenience and ease for regular customers who often visit the site. Register form contains personal information such as name, address, email, password, image, and so on. Proper data validation is done and when all the required fields are validated, registration will be successful. All information will be saved on the database. Users can log in to the system with email and password. The goal of this project was to create a very user-friendly website for an e-commerce store. We have provided users the opportunity to tweak and edit their account details later even after registering an account. In the edit account interface, users can edit their name, password, e-mail address, profile image, and contact address.

The overall objective of the thesis was to create a virtual online store and describe the process of development and functionality of the website. The author had the opportunity to get a good knowledge of e-commerce websites, web tools, and technologies which will be very useful in further study and working life. The new student can be used this thesis work for basic knowledge of website development from scratch.
