The aim of this Bachelor´s thesis was to find out how restorative is used in Hämeenlinna's early childhood education unit and how to develop it. The thesis describes in the theoretical basis restorativ and mediation, MiniVerso, inclusion, ethics and emotions. In the early childhood educa-tion unit, the whole staff has been taught to use restorativ and the Mini-Verso mediation method. In the thesis, the study material was collected by interviewing children and a questionnaire from nursery teachers. Chil-dren were interviewed for settling disputes and what the children told about mediation. The answers from the questionnaire gave information of development and how teachers work with restorative way and how they use MiniVerso in their work with children.

Mediation in the day-care center is the meeting of children as experts in their disputes. The goals of mediation include respecting, smoothing out the situation, and preventing stigma and exclusion.

There was a lot of research material. The results include apology, play, disputes, involvement, encounter and rush. Children sometimes settle disputes with each other or with adults and play. The nursery teachers highlighted the urgency but also the importance of inclusion and encoun-ter in everyday situations.
