The purpose of the study was to get acquainted with decoration retail business through practical experience. Thesis was assigned by the Sisustus Satiini Ltd. The bjective of the study was, the development of the know-how of entrepreneurs in interior design business through practical experiences.

The main topics of the thesis were team entrepreneurship on the interior decoration business as well as the creation of fascinating shop environment. In addition the thesis dealt with issues related with setting up a business and growth as entrepreneurs through the various challenges, tasks and projects.

Thesis was initially drafted as a business plan which was used to look into the interior decoration shop about to be opened. The information for business plan-making as well as the thesis was collected from interior design magazines, entrepreneurship and marketing literature, the Internet and various discussions with entrepreneurs. During the collection of the materials it was discovered that there was not much past data about starting up an interior design shop. Therefore the collected material and information had to be made adaptable into the interior design retail shop being opened.

Attached at the end of the thesis can be found a research conducted in November 2009 for Sisustus Satiini’s loyal customers. The study was made after loyalty customer evening regarding the organization and execution issues. Another loyalty customer evening arranged in April was planned with the help of the research results obtained in November. Attention was paid especially to the practical arrangements and the discount tags as the study showed these two to be the biggest targets for development
