Opinnäytetyönämme teimme Mikkelin kaupungin lapsiperheille palveluoppaan, joka sisältää tietoa kaupungin tarjoamista lapsiperheiden palveluista. Työ tehtiin toimeksiantona Mikkelin kaupungin käyttöön yhteistyössä Mikkelin alueen lapsiperheiden palveluiden yhteyshenkilöiden kanssa.

Palveluopas toteutettiin, jotta Mikkelin kaupungin lapsiperheet saisivat tietoa laaja-alaisesti palvelujen tarjoajista. Lapsiperheiden palveluiden kartoitus on osa valtakunnallista Työelämän kehittämishanketta (Tykes), jossa Mikkelin kaupunki oli osallisena.

Opinnäytetyömme teoreettinen viitekehys käsittelee lapsiperheiden asemaa Suomessa. Avaamme lisäksi palvelujärjestelmää ja lapsiperheiden sosiaalipalveluita. Keskeisessä asemassa ovat myös valtakunnalliset kehittämishankkeet, jotka koskettavat lapsiperheiden hyvinvointia ja palveluita. Tarkoituksenamme oli myös opinnäytetyössämme tarjota lapsiperheille oppaan lisäksi tietoa suomalaisen yhteiskunnan muutoksista ja niiden vaikutuksista lapsiperheiden elämään sekä tietoa asiakkaalle kuuluvasta palveluohjauksesta. Käsittelimme myös ajankohtaisia aiheita kuten ennaltaehkäisevää työtä ja varhaista tukea sekä valtakunnallisesti että Mikkelin seudulla.

Opinnäytetyön toteutettiin yhdessä Mikkelin kaupungin yhteyshenkilön Perhepalveluohjaaja Heli Hännisen kanssa yhteistyössä. Hänninen toimi työelämäohjaajana ja oli apunamme kokoamassa oppaan sisältöä. Lisäksi osallistuimme työryhmän kokouksiin, joissa osallisina olivat Mikkelin kaupungin lapsiperhepalveluiden vastuuhenkilöt sekä perhepalveluyksiköiden edustajia. Opas luotiin Mikkelin kaupungin Perhenetti-sivuston rinnalle paperi versioksi.

Tekemästämme oppaasta hyötyvät Mikkelin lapsiperheet tai lasta suunnittelevat perheet sekä paikkakunnalle muuttavat perhepalveluita tarvitsevat. Opas palvelee myös lapsiperheiden kanssa työskenteleviä ja alan opiskelijoita.

The aim of our final assignment was to make a guidance book about the family services provided in the city of Mikkeli. The assignment was custom made for the city of Mikkeli with the help from contact persons from the different organiza-tions providing services for families with children.

The guidance book was made so the families in Mikkeli region could get information about the services provided in their home town. The listing of the services provided for families is a part of national Tykes-project that the city of Mikkeli is taking part of.

The theoretical framework of our final assingment deals with the role of families in Finland. As well we are opening the service system and social servises provided for families. In key role are also national development projects that affect the wellbeing and services provided for the families with children. The meaning of our assignment is to clarify the current status of the services provided in the city on Mikkeli. Besides the guide for the families with children it was also our mean-ing to bring information about the changes in Finnish society and the effects that those changes are bringing in to the life’s of families. In our final assignment we are also dealing with current affairs including preventive work in social services nation vide and in city of Mikkeli.

Our final work made in co-operation with the contact person of city of Mikkeli, Heli Hänninen. Hänninen was our work supervisor and helped us to get the guide together. We also took part in team meetings where representatives of family service units and the head persons of the child services got together. In that team we discussed about getting together a family net for the city of Mikkeli. Our role in that team was to discuss about the role of the guide book alongside the family net. The guide book was made to work alongside of the family net of city of Mikkeli as a paper version. Theory part we collected independently and got guidance from work life through material.

The result of our work was made a guidance book about the services in the city of Mikkeli. The groups that are getting the most benefits from the guidance book are the families with children and the families planning to have children. Also people moving in to Mikkeli region are getting benefits from this guidance book. Also the guidance book helps the people who are working with families and the students.
