I mitt examensarbete med namnet “1 steg i taget “ har jag planerat en produktfamilj bestående av fyra unika produkter. Fyra produkter som grundar sig på temat fjärilens utveckling. “1 steg i taget “ beskriver inte bara de fyra stadier som fjärilen går igenom i sin utveckling, det beskriver även min egen utveckling som person och formgivare under fyra års studietid. Inom examentsarbetet har jag forskat kring temat konst och design och stött på ett för mig nytt begrepp “designart”. Syftet med examensarbetet är att väcka känslor hos åskådaren med de objekt jag har tillverkat och jag vill att åskådaren genom mitt arbete själv börjar fundera mera kring temat design och konst och vad det har för betydelse för deras liv. En ny metod som jag använde mig av inom tillverkningsprocessen är att jobba starkt efter egen intuition och försök. Jag ville pröva på att skapa objekt i vilka estetiken står mera i focus än funktionen. Jag gick ett steg bort från design och ett steg närmare konsten. Är “designart “ då ett fenomen som intresserar och har framtid? Det är en fråga som var och en själv måste svara på, men med detta arbete hoppas jag att det går lite lättare. Forskningen inom temat har visat sig positiv för mig och stöder mina framtida planer att jobba med unik design med konstinflytning väldigt bra. I detta examensarbete får jag nu till sist presentera ett formspråk och stil som jag vill använda mig av i mitt framtida yrke som formgivare.

In my thesis named “1 steg i taget” which means “1 step at a time” I planned a object family of four unique products. Four products based on the theme “development of the butterfly”. “1 steg i taget “ not only describes the four stages of the butterfly, it also describes my own development as a person and designer under my four years of study. In my thesis I have done a research on the theme of art and design, answering the question: “What is design and art?”. I also encountered a new concept for me called “design art”. The purpose of my thesis is to arouse the emotions of the spectator with the items I have made and I want the viewer also to make themself thinking more about the theme design and art and what kind of significance it has for their lives. A new method that I used in the manufacturing process is working more after my own intuition and work a lot through testing and experimenting. I wanted to create items in which aesthetics stands more in focus than the function of the product. I went one step away from design and took a step closer to art in my work. Is “design art” a phenomenon that interests and has a bright future?It is a question that each person must answer, but with this work, I hope that it will get a little easier. Research in this theme has proved positive for me and it supports well my future plans to work with a unique design with art influence. In this thesis, I now finally can present a design and style that I want to use in my future career as a designer.
