The Central Finland Rescue Department offers updated simulation training for paramedics working in the area. The simulation training has been updated so that instead of competence assessment the learning process of the participants has become the main priority. The updated simulation training was introduced on 1.1.2014. The purpose of this thesis is to describe the paramedics' experiences of guidance given during the training. The objective of this thesis was to help Central Finland Rescue Department to further develop the training on the basis of the study results. This thesis was conducted as a quantitative study in co-operation with the Central Finland Rescue Department. The first step was to familiarize ourselves with simulation pedagogy, patient safety and emergency care service. The next step was to create a questionnaire together with the rescue department. Questionnaires were handed out to the participants after the training from March to May and from September to October 2014 and the total number of responses was 80. The results were analyzed by using the SPSS-program. The Mann-Whitney U-test and Kruskal-Wallis test were used to analyze differences between paramedics working in different levels and with different amount of work experience. The results were mainly positive. Paramedics found the new training and guidance well organized and useful. The only negative point was group size which the participants found too big. Statistic differences between the advanced and basic level paramedics were found in three questions: one question about the given time to perform all the wanted operations and two questions about the feedback. Statistic differences were also found between paramedics with different amount of work experience. Those questions were about the usefulness of the simulation training and if the training support at working in the field.
