The purpose of this thesis was to design and develop a system for OY Porin Hanke AB to measure the location and time and date of the delivery truck, as well as temperature changes in the luggage compartment of said vehicle during the transport and to save the collected data values for later review.

The theoretical part of this thesis explains the basics of methods used in the thesis. It covers how satellite positioning works, how 3D modeling and printing works and what are the opportunities of 3D modeling and 3D printing, as well as how A/D conversion works.

In the functional part of this thesis, a system was developed that reads and saves the values of position, time and date of the vehicle in delivery, as well as changes in temperature in the luggage compartment.

In the functional part of thesis, an operating system was installed on the Raspberry Pi microcomputer, which is the base of the system, and operating settings were created. Two programs were programmed, one for reading and writing the values of needed data and the other for acting as controller for graphical user interface.

Protective cases were 3D-modeled and -printed for components of the system. The system was developed for OY Porin Hanke AB, therefore the system or any source-code involved will not be released for outside use.
