Opetushallitus määrittelee sähkö- ja automaatioalan opetussuunnitelmassa tutkintojen tavoitteet ja ammattitaitovaatimukset jotka opiskelijan täytyy osata. Opiskelijalla on oikeus saada erityistä tukea jos hänellä on oppimisvaikeuksia, vamma tai sairaus tai joku muu syy jonka vuoksi hän tarvitsee säännöllistä erityistä tukea opiskeluun saavuttaakseen ammatissa tarvittavat ammattitaitovaatimukset. Tämän tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli selvittää onko erityisen tuen antamiselle tarvetta sähkö- ja automaatioalan perustutkintoa opiskeleville opiskelijoille.

Tutkimuksen kohdehenkilöiksi valittiin ensimmäistä vuotta sähkö- ja automaatioalan perustutkintoa opiskelevat opiskelijat ja heidän huoltajansa. Tutkimus tehtiin kyselylytutkimuksena Google Forms-lomakkeella. Kysely toteutettiin lukuvuoden lopussa jolloin vastaajilla olisi mahdollisimman selkeä kuva tutkinnon osien vaatimustasosta. Kysymykset laadittiin tutkinnon osien mukaan keskittymällä keskeisiin osaamisvaatimuksiin. Saatua tutkimusaineistoa analysoitiin määrällisesti sekä laadullisesti.

Tutkimuksen mukaan sähkö- ja automaatioalan perustutkinnossa erityisen tuen tarvetta ilmeni eniten matemaattista osaamista tarvitsevissa ja käytännön harjoitteita vaadittavissa tutkinnon osissa. Vähiten tuen tarvetta ilmeni äidinkielen ja vieraiden kielten tutkinnon osissa. Opiskelijoiden ja huoltajien mielipiteet erityisen tuen tarpeesta olivat samansuuntaisia kaikissa kyseessä olleissa tutkinnon osissa.

In the electrical and automation curriculum, the Finnish National Agency of Education defines the objectives of the degrees and the professional skills requirements that the student must know. A student is entitled to special support if he or she has a learning disability, disability or illness or any other reason why he or she needs regular special support to study in order to meet the professional skills requirements of the profession. The aim of this study was to determine whether there is a need for special support for students with a bachelor's degree in electrical and automation.

The subjects of the study were first-year undergraduate students in electrical and automation and their guardians. The survey was conducted as a questionnaire survey using the Google Forms form. The survey was conducted at the end of the academic year so that the respondents would have as clear a picture as possible of the level of requirements for the parts of the degree. The questions were drafted according to the parts of the degree by focusing on the key competence requirements. The obtained research material was analyzed quantitatively as well as qualitatively.

According to the study, the need for special support in the bachelor's degree in electrical and automation was most evident in the parts of the degree that require mathematical skills and practical exercises. The least need for support was evident in the parts of the degree in mother tongue and foreign languages. The opinions of students and guardians about the need for special support were similar in all relevant parts of the degree.
