Myeloproliferatiiviset sairaudet : oppimateriaali bioanalyytikko-opiskelijoille

Haematology is one of the study branches of biomedical laboratory science and the focus of haematology studies is in understanding the phases of blood cell production and coagulation and learning to identify blood cells.

The aim of this thesis is to enable further understanding of haematological myeloproliferative neoplasms for biomedical laboratory science students. The purpose of this functional bachelor’s thesis was to produce a coherent and easily readable learning material which supports students’ learning and competence in haematology studies and during practical training.

The learning material describes three most common myeloproliferative neoplasms: Polycythemia vera, Myelofibrosis and Essential thrombocythemia. The origin, symptoms, possible treatments and view in the blood count for each neoplasm will be reviewed in the material. The learning material is based on the theory presented in this thesis report and some theory-based questions were also made to provide the possibility for independent repetition.
