This bachelor´s thesis studied mortgage deed mass conversion and electrification of mortgage deeds. The main goal of this bachelor´s thesis was to find out if mass conversion was a good solution and how the electrification of mortgage deeds has changed the Registration Issues process in the National Land Survey of Finland. The theoretical framework of this research thesis mainly consists of relevant legislation, government proposals as well as publications of National Land Survey. In the theoretical part of this thesis relevant terms are defined and the phenomenon studied is descripted. In addition the benefits of electric mortgage deed are explained and also the process of cancellation of a lost written mortgage deed is explained. This study was conducted as qualitative empirical study, where research material was gathered with a questionnaire, which was send to the personnel responsible for registration issues process. The results showed that mortgage deed mass conversion was a good solution. The results also indicates that the registration issues process has become easier and faster because of the electrification of mortgage deeds. Almost everyone who answered to the questionnaire thought that an electric mortgage deed is better option than a written mortgage deed. The biggest practical change has been that today there is no need to send written mortgage deeds one way or another. Due to electrification using of electronic services and automation is increasing.
